Bicycling This Summer

It has been a long time that I visited my blog. Of late I was caught up with a loads of thing; laziness being one of them. Many times I wanted to jot down some updates but didn't have the heart for it. I guess Lille's biting cold and chilly wind had persuaded me to hibernate. With spring up in the air, I'm back to normal mode or should I say to an excited state. Having not done anything DJish for a couple of months now, my limbs are just waiting to do some crazy stuff.

Talking about crazy stuff, for the past couple of days I'm having a penchant for biking. Well, I'm not talking about participating in Tour de France 2010. Its way out of my league. I'd love to ride to my girlfriend's place and give her a pleasant surprise. It'll be a 50km ride, which I guess shouldn't take more than 2hrs provided I don't get lost on the way.

I was little uncertain about the roadway rules of France; whether it is permitted to ride on all the roads. I learnt that there are 5 types of roads viz. Chemin Vicinal (CV), Departementale (D), Nationale (N), Route pour Automobiles (N) and Autoroute (A). CV and D are the only ones authorized to cyclists. Google Map said I don't have to do prohibited stuffs and I was content. Talking about doing prohibited stuff, I'd love to do train hopping sometimes. Although I've done a couple of times but it was always for a short distance. I'm still working on the theoretical aspects of train hopping. 

Hope biking this summer will be a positive experience. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

A Night of Inspiration

I often think that the night is more alive and colourful than the day. It's the time when my mind takes a stroll and give me ideas. It gives me a chance to analyse what's going with and around me. Night has always given me the motivation to keep on moving. It inspires and reminds me that the chase to become a better person is not yet over. I don't know when will it over or if at all it will be over. I don't know how would that better person be but for sure I'm not him. Night has taught me the 3 Ps (Perseverance, Persistence and Patience) that my father always wanted me to learn. It has taught me to look a person beyond his colour. It has encouraged me to try and to do the things that I would never do ordinarily. What I take from my nights I add to the days.

Life in a Metro

The other day while I was in the toilet, I did some quick maths and figured out that I spend 270 hours a year on an average in the metro. As I have nothing else to do but to wait for my stop to come, often I observe the fellow commuters. Where for the most part, I share my journey with people who are confined to themselves as if they have been sentenced to a solitary confinement or a high school couple who are completely oblivious of the fact that there are also other people surrounding them and think the metro to be the best place on the earth to make out and to prove their commitment towards each other; I often encounter some very peculiar people. - The Vibrating Dude : He always makes a grand entrance with a smirk on his face.
