Movie Theatres

Recently I had been to a movie hall to watch Avatar along with a friend of mine. Although I loved the movie with its 3D effect yet I felt cinema halls back home were more fun ! I still remember the days when I had to stand in a line and wait for a couple of hours in front of the ticket counter under the scorching heat of the sun; sweaty bodies and with stinky fellows pushing me from behind (Indians don't follow one arm distance policy) just in order to get a place for the movie. And most of the times, the counter would display a board saying "House Full" within 30min of its opening. It used to be a signal for "time to purchase illegal tickets or so called black tickets". But all those wait, sweat, push and pull worth a "paisa vasool" movie. The atmosphere inside the hall would be no less than another Bollywood movie; audience cheering or clapping for the heroes, booing at the villain, whistling on every intimate scene and dancing at every item number...

Zzz ... too lazy to write the topic

Waking up early has never been my thing. At times I have given a try, not full-heartedly though, and failed. Its very rare that I wake up early in the morning. Every time my alarm goes off, my first thought is always to stop that blasted noise and go back to sleep. There have been days, when I stopped 6 consecutive alarms each at a gap of 10min and again slept. Now that's the heights of  laziness ! But whenever I do wake up early,  I really feel awesome. I see the sun rising, birds chirping and love the fresh air and the serene atmosphere. This summer I went to India, and there were few a occasions when I woke up early and would see my father already awake. Then he would ask if I would like to have some tea. His day begins with a cutting chai (tea) with the previous day's newspaper. I would then sit next to him and we would have some deep and intellectual chat. Wow! I loved that. Next we used to go out for a morning walk where he used to plug flowers which he would offer to ...

No !!

"No!", its just a two letter word but with big consequences. Its a word that I need to use more often . It can be a step towards emotional freedom or, at the very least, a life with fewer grumpy moments. I had no idea that I was going to write about "No" until I returned back from my exam hall, switched on my laptop and read a wonderful travelogue written by a family of 5 people who are on a world tour. The father expresses his frustration on the inability of the Indians to say "no". He writes, Indians are so kind that they have no verbal way of saying "no" but at times it gets very annoying especially when they don't say a no to a thing and do not understand the importance of being committed to that thing. Be it my culture or be it my personality trait, I find it hard to say a no. Or should I say, I found it hard to say a no until the recent past. Now I'm learning how to say a no and I’ve been a lot more productive and happy since th...

Am I gonna miss 2009 ?

This is for the 4th time in a row that I deleted what I was writing; being not sure of what should be the 1st topic of my new blog. This time, I hope (crossing my fingers!) I won't delete it. As the name of my blog suggests, presently my mind is speaking a lot of things and I'm finding it a little tough to concentrate on one particular thing. Having said so, is it really important to be one particular topic ? After all, isn't this blog about what my mind speaks ? May be its telling more than one thing ... why not to write them all down ? Anyways lets see, how this thing goes. I'm sure once I proceed, my mind will come down to one topic. One thing I was asking myself this morning, am I gonna miss 2009? Whether I will remember 2009 after a couple of years ? Up until now I couldn't come up with a tangible answer to convice my mind. Maybe I'd console it with a neutral answer, Ermm .. I ain't no sure ... on verra ! 2009 has shown some ups and downs in my life, ...
